How to Tie a Constrictor Knot

The constrictor knot can be a useful knot to secure multiple similar shaped objects together while kayaking. For example, if you are kayak camping or it can come in handy to secure wood together. It is a strong knot that will knot (pun intended) come loose if tied tightly.

Step 1:ƂĀ Wrap the object or objects with one large loop where the crossing of the loop is facing towards you.

Step 2:ƂĀ Take one of the free ends of rope and loop it around the object again. As the end comes back around make sure it is underneath the other side of the rope.

Step 3:ƂĀ Bring the same free end over the other side of the rope and behind the first loop.
